Shwed Nadiya. Methodological determining of the appropriateness of opening of the distributional central network in the region N

Earlier this year IMVO company held a competition of student works. Below you will find the annotation of 5th year student of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic" - Shved Nadia Yaroslavivna.

Nowadays, due to the active development of retailer’s requirements for service quality increases. Competitive positions in the market depend on their ability to ensure the availability of products to consumers and the quality of service. Developing strategies for the development of trade networks, the use of logistics as a major factor in the impact of income and expense distribution network is actualized.

At this work the objective need for distribution centers is justified, whose main purpose is to deliver products in retail chains, which are ready for implementation, sorted and packed, not always just when they are needed. Goods are not just stored, but processed and distributed to retail outlets. This allows you to do great storage space in supermarkets and make the sales area bigger. Retail network can prepare stocks to the extent for daily and weekly sales at its stores, build and maintain a range of stability.

It is proved that the presence of distribution center allows accelerating the turnover, quickly updating range depending on consumer demand and gaining an advantage in the confrontation with competitors. Trade network is trying to create in its structure, distribution center, in order to ensure the appropriate implementation of trade flows, prompt delivery at the right time, in the appropriate outlet.

It is set up that trading networks, operated by the distribution centers, form the same standards and rules of trade processes. Such standardization makes it easy to develop and expand its network in any region. At the distribution center the role level of distribution and marketing is relied on, which helps optimize costs, reduce operational areas, strict quality control and distribution of the required range to commercial networks.

In this paper, the five main phases of the feasibility of opening a center in the region N are reviewed. At the beginning we need to determine the dynamics of trade flows based on the series of observations, the parameters which describes the flows, their intensity, turnover and a comparative analysis of decisions on outsourcing and their own logistics.

Summing up the experience of foreign experts, it can be argued that the average distribution center is to ensure economic efficiency serves a network of about 80 stores, has refrigeration for food storage in different temperatures, special equipment for handling, convenient parking, and access roads.

The pattern of development of Ukrainian grocery chains according to research company GT Partners Ukraine is investigated in this course paper, whose growth rates are 63% in 2012 relatively to 2010. Seven active grocery retailers have expanded their network to 293 outlets.

The most common methods of optimal distribution center location are reviewed on this paper, such as the exhaustive search, heuristic methods, and the method of determining the center of gravity method test point. In this paper the factors that significantly affect the localization of the distribution center are set up.

The distribution center is composed in this course paper: describing the movement of trade flows and determined the area major zones, using the theory of queues (queuing theory) determined the optimum number of service channels (car ramps) at the inlet and outlet. For efficient operation of distribution center the choice of indicators is quite important that reflects its activities in order to quantify the magnitude of beneficial effects on the functioning distribution center. Also, the efficiency of distribution center is directly characterized by its profitability, percentage of completion and errors in warehouse operations, processing speed and complexity of the operations themselves.
